Wet Vinyl Installation

Get the surface and vinyl adhesive wet. Tape the piece to hold it in place. Small vinyl lettering and decals should be installed dry. Leave your vinyl flooring to acclimatise in the intended room for 24 hours.

2 1 lay the vinyl wrap on the flat sur face without removing the lining. The wet method is usually recommended for the larger simple designs and any application where the application surface is recessed or embossed ie. For vinyl sheet flooring add 75ml to each edge to allow for cutting and trimming. The dry method as its name indicates does not use fluid but rather depends on the skill of the installer to correctly position the film.

Spray your surface and the bottom of the vinyl after removing the liner with water. Use the support to remove any excess trim around the area. Vinyl flooring installation typically takes between 1 2 days to complete. Mix 1 or 2 drops of liquid dish soap in a spray bottle of water.

Some types of vinyl flooring such as plank and tile need a few days to acclimate to the temperature and humidity in your home prior to the installation. Those who are still learning need the flexibility that wetting solutions can offer. The wet application method applies a vinyl graphic to a substrate by using a fluid to assist with positioning. Avoid joins in wet areas to prevent water from getting underneath the vinyl.
