What does maple wood grain look like.

Maple wood has a fine uniform texture with generally straight grain but variations such as birdseye tiger flame curly wavy rippled or fiddleback grain occur and are often selected for specialty custom artisan furniture. You can do this by looking at the edges of a piece and seeing if the end grain matches up with the direction of the grain along the face of the wood.
